Toyota Tundra Hybrid

Toyota Tundra Hybrid – Toyota President Katsuaki Watanabe has stated that he would like to develop electric hybrid version of the Tundra. However, Toyota Tundra Hybrid is facing a number of technical challenges that must be overcome such chewed car brings to the market.



According to the Japanese newspaper Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Toyota is considering for developing a gasoline electric Toyota Tundra Hybrid, for sale in North America around 2010. Toyota also introduce the diesel electric hybrid system for the Royor Tundra. In Japan, the Toyota Dyna and Hino Dutro light trucks produced by Toyota Motor use diesel electric hybrid systems. The Hino Ranger a medium heavy work cab-over truck could also provide hybrid technology for the next generation Toyota Tundra.



At the 2008 North American International Auto Show, Toyota USA President Jim Lentz said “different models require different types of fuel saving technology. it may be a few hybrid technology does not make sense”. He went on to say that the Toyota Tundra and Toyota Sequoia will not be offered with hybrid engine in the near future, instead of those cars would have a “clean, fuel efficient diesel engines. For now, it seems, the Toyota Tundra Hybrid has been sent back to the drawing board or canceled completely.
