2015 Volkswagen e-Golf

Volkswagen takes electrical path with the 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf. The 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf is based on the hatchback Golf which was redesigned for 2015, but exchanged gasoline or diesel transmission of golf by an electric motor powered by a lithium ion is located under the rear seats. EPA estimated range for the 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf is 83 miles, which vary in a wide range of factors, including temperature, using climate control, and how difficult it accelerates while driving.

Although the Golf hatchback is offered as a two or four doors, the Volkswagen e-Golf is only a four-door. The 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf style closely matches the petrol version, but it gets its own unique 16-inch wheels and a piece of thin blue motif covering the clusters of the grille and headlights.

The total output of the electric motor is 115 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque, all goes to the front wheels. A full charge of vacuum in a household 110-volt outlet takes 20 hours, but the e-Golf offers quick charge capability of DC fast-charging station to fill the battery to 80 percent capacity in 30 minutes. An optional 240-volt charger that you can install in your home reduces the time from full charge to about four hours.

To save battery power, the e-Golf offers three different driving profiles: Normal, Eco and Eco +. Normal mode taps maximum power capability of the motor and the battery, but switching to Eco limits the power of 94 horsepower, reduce the power load of the climate system, and makes the throttle less sensitive. Eco + goes even further, limiting the maximum speed to 56 miles per hour, turn off air conditioning, and falling output to 74 horsepower.
