The Toyota Camry Hybrid is offered in base LE, sporty SE and XLE luxury trim levels. The Toyota Camry Hybrid LE incorporates steel wheels 16 inches, automatic headlights, heated outside mirrors, keyless ignition and entry, rear view camera, dual-zone automatic climate control, power accessories, power driver’s seat of eight positions, cruise control, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, a trip computer, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, 6.1-inch screen and base Entune audio system that includes a system six-speaker sound system with CD player, auxiliary input and USB / iPod interface.

The Toyota Camry Hybrid SE adds a unique hybrid grille, black headlamp surrounds, alloy wheels 17 inches, sports suspension, a rear spoiler, sport cloth seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and interior trim silver. The Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE LE includes features along with 17-inch wheels alloy, fog lights, LED lights position a chrome exhaust tip an auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather upholstery, heated front seats, power passenger seat four positions and Entune Audio Plus, which adds satellite radio and HD radio.

Entune Audio Plus is optional on Toyota Camry Hybrid LE and Toyota Camry Hybrid SE. The Toyota Camry Hybrid SE can also be had with a solar roof, a wireless cell phone charger Qi and Entune premium audio system with navigation and application suite that includes Entune Audio Plus presents with a touch screen 7-inch system navigation and various applications of integrated smartphones. The Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE offers such options as well. Also optional on XLE is a set of 10 JBL speakers audio, a package of Advanced Technology, a packet Safety Connect and a blind spot system and rear cross traffic alert.

Toyota Camry Hybrid Interior

The Toyota Camry Hybrid is blessed with one of the most spacious and comfortable in the midsize family sedan segment booths. Even senior adults will find plenty of space above the head and front of his knees, while a safety seat facing backwards is set back easily. The Toyota Camry Hybrid fixed rear headrests make it difficult to properly secure a child in front seat, however.

Up front, the buttons on the center console are large, easy to read at a glance and gloves without being comically large or ugly. This is especially true of substantially designed climate controls. Each Camry Hybrid gets an interface standard 6.1-inch touchscreen Entune, which controls the audio system, integrated smartphone apps available and optional navigation system. Not many of these modern interfaces are really easy to use, but Entune is one of the best and simplest available. The Toyota Camry Hybrid, with 13.1 cubic feet, the trunk offers a respectable capacity for hybrid sedan. The rear seat is split 60/40, and the Toyota Camry Hybrid, passenger side folds for added cargo capacity.

Toyota Camry Hybrid Engine

The Toyota Camry Hybrid pairs engine 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor and battery. Working together, the two power supplies put out a combined output of 200 hp. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) provides power to the front wheels. We have not tested a 2015 model, but the latest Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE evaluate accelerated from zero to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds, fast for a midsize sedan hybrid time. EPA-estimated fuel economy for the Camry Hybrid LE is 41 mpg combined (43 city / 39 highway). Interestingly, the combined 40 mpg achieved XLE (40 city / 38 highway), probably due to increased rolling resistance of the larger wheels and tires.

Toyota Camry Hybrid Safety

The Toyota Camry Hybrid comes with antilock brakes, stability and traction control, rear view camera, side airbags for front and rear seats, side curtain airbags and knee airbags for the driver and passenger. In the XLE can also obtain a system of blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, Forward Collision Warning and a frontal collision mitigation system including automatic braking. Optional Safety Connect telematics system of Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE includes emergency assistance, notification-stolen vehicle and automatic collision notification.

In government crash tests, the Toyota Camry Hybrid received five stars (out of five possible) for overall crash protection with four stars for frontal crash protection and five stars for side impact. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the standard (non-hybrid) Camry the best possible rating of “Good” in its moderate overlap and offset frontal crash test small overlap. The Camry also earned a “good” rating in the side impact, roof strength and head retention tests.
