The 2014 Subaru Legacy is a five-passenger sedan offered in five trim levels: 2.5i, Premium 2.5i, 2.5i Sport, Limited 2.5i and 3.6R Limited. The base 2014 Subaru Legacy 2.5i models come with 16-inch steel wheels, automatic lights; air conditioning, cruise control; a height-adjustable driver seat, a wheel tilt-and-telescoping steering, full power accessories, rear seat 60/40-split-folding, Bluetooth phone connectivity and audio, and a four-speaker system audio CD player, an iPod / USB audio interface and auxiliary audio jack. An option package for the base model 2.5i (CVT version only) adds 17-inch alloy wheels and fog-lights.
The 2014 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Premium includes all of the above without foglights (which must be purchased as an accessory). It also heated body-color mirrors, a spirit Wiper de-Acer, an eight-way power driver seat (with power lumbar), heated front seats, a coordinating leather-wrapped and shift knob and a six-speaker sound system.
Optional for the 2.5i2014 Subaru Legacy Premium include Moonroof package, which features a sunroof, camera rearview and auto-dimming rearview mirror. If you buy this package, you also have the option to receive the eyes of the driver-assist system Subaru, including adaptive cruise control, lane-warning system from the well-collision warning / mitigation system with brake intervention. Otherwise, you can buy a pack Moonroof combination with a navigation system that has a 7-inch screen and smartphone app integration.
The 2014 Subaru Legacy Sport 2.5i adds 18-inch alloy wheels, foglights, a sunroof, and pedals aluminum-trimmed, made of carbon fiber trim in the interior, the camera rearview and auto-dimming rearview mirror. Nav system is optional, but the eyes of the available Sport model.
The 2014 Subaru Legacy sunroof and rearview camera move back to the list of options 2.5i Limited model, and returns to 17-inch wheels. However, 2014 Subaru Legacy Limited builds upon the services 2.5i Premium model, as it adds leather upholstery, a four-way passenger power seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear-seat air vents, made of wood trim interior, the gauge cluster upgraded and sound system Harman Kardon. Options are the same as on the 2.5i Premium, except that you’re able to buy the eyes in combination with the navigation system. Standard equipment is optional for the 2014 Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited following the 2.5i Limited, but 3.6R features six-cylinder engine and a wider 17-inch wheels.
2014 Subaru Legacy Interior
The 2014 Subaru Legacy’s interior is simple and straightforward. The controls are basic in lower trims, but get more complex as you move up the line, and some of the plastics feel distressed premium found in competing models. The optional navigation system especially is not all that easy to use, as its complex menus and buttons in the screen’s virtual are not always responsive. Still, many consumers will find the 2014 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Premium trim level is worth up to, as it includes six stereo speaker and access options such as a sunroof camera rearview. The all-wheel drive 2014 Subaru Legacy is offered with two engines: a 2.5-liter four-cylinder 3.6-liter six-cylinder. A six-speed transmission with manual (including hill-holder feature) standard on the base 2.5i, and transmission continuously variable (CVT) with steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles optional. The EPA rates 2.5i CVT models at 27 mpg combined (24 city / 32 highway), and the version of the manual-shift is rated significantly lower at 24 mpg combined (21/29). Neither choice is a standout for-cylinder fuel economy. In performance testing, a Sport Legacy 2.5i went from zero to 60 mph in 8.6 seconds, which is about average for class.
The 2014 Subaru Legacy 3.6R features a 3.6-liter boxer 6-cylinder engine good for 256 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. The five-speed automatic with shift paddles is the only transmission offered. In performance testing, the 2014 Subaru Legacy 3.6R accelerated from zero to 60 7.1 seconds, below-average for the part. The EPA estimates the 3.6R will return 20 mpg combined (18/25), under the average for the class.
2014 Subaru Legacy Safety
The 2014 Subaru Legacy rolled with stability and traction control, front side airbags and side curtain airbags and antilock disc brakes. A camera rearview optional.
