Subaru Outback

The Subaru Outback is an automotive nameplate used by the Japanese car manufacturer Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI) since 1994. “Outback” The name has been used on Subaru mark two different cars. One of these models is based on the mid-sized Subaru Legacy and other derived from the hatchback version of the Subaru Impreza. Named after the great, remote, dry and rural regions of Australia the term is intended to emphasize the moderate off-road capability of the vehicle.

Subaru Outback Sport (1994-2011)

The Subaru Legacy model-based, Subaru and the Subaru Outback Sport in 1994 to North America only model year 1995. From the hatchback Subaru Impreza, the Subaru Outback Sport featured an off-road appearance package, and the suspension was raised slightly like a great model Legacy-based. Subaru Outback (1994-Present)

The Subaru Outback station wagon debuted in 1994 as based on the second generation Subaru Legacy. In Japan, Subaru introduced the car as the Subaru Legacy Grand Wagon, but most other markets, this model is known as the Legacy Outback. In Australia, Subaru decided to shorten the name Subaru Outback launched in 1996 and thus became the first on the market to use the abbreviated name. Subaru developed Subaru Outback by side body cladding and lowering the suspension of the existing Legacy wagon. Except for a small difference in color, the Outback shared by almost all parts of the model Legacy donor. In the New England region of the United States, Subaru retailed the Legacy SUS-concept similar to the Subaru Outback, but based on the sedan variant of the body.

Subaru released a new generation Subaru Outback and Subaru Legacy equivalent in 1998 with the Outback now badged Legacy Lancaster in Japan. Following the same formula as the original, the new series shared the same mechanics and of these, but abbreviated Subaru Outback title now specified in most markets outside Europe and Japan. For the first time, a sedan joined the wagon for North America only.

In 2003, Subaru re-released one of the Subaru Outback side of the new Legacy. Like two generations earlier, the update 2003 followed the same plan as before. This included the sedan and Outback in North America, only to be discontinued in mid-production. By accepting the nameplate Legacy Outback as used in Europe, the 2003 onwards models and meant to stop eschewal Subaru’s identity Outback for Japan. The current copy of the Subaru Outback debuted in 2009 in conjunction with the corresponding Subaru Legacy model. To this series, European markets are now shorter Subaru Outback name.
